Cooking up the next big thing.
Did you know that Michigan has 14,600 acres of grape vines of which 2,000 acres are devoted to wine grapes? Or that Michigan is a top 10 state for wine production as more than 130 wineries produce over 1 million gallons of wine annually? With a passion for travel, Cathy Knapp has toured many of Michigan’s wineries, gaining extensive knowledge of one of the state’s top crops as well as other top attractors for businesses and people alike.
A Certified Economic Developer, Cathy serves as director of Southwest Michigan First’s office based in Sturgis. She holds responsibility for delivering business consulting services to St. Joseph County’s existing companies and managing the project pipeline associated with those businesses.
